Before the Internet, we were in the sign business using directories in the back of trade publications and yellow pages from various cities to search for sign contractors that fit our specific needs. It was tedious, and we thought... "there has to be a better way."
There wasn't, so we invented one. And in 1999, Signsearch.com was born on a desktop in Vancouver, BC, Canada as the first web-based search engine specifically designed to connect sign buyers with sign companies across the US and Canada. Signsearch was revolutionary. Suddenly finding the right sign company was easy. Ta-da, indeed.
Signsearch.com quickly became the "brand name" for search in the sign industry, and with its success, came the realization that we had a knack for online software development. Wondering what else we could create to benefit the sign and graphics industry, we evolved into a Software as a Service (SaaS) company and changed our name to Visual Communications Group, adding website development services and SignsearchPRO to our offerings.
